I am Southern! Haha. I just live in NY for now, uni and such.
None of my friends know I like it as much as I do. They just think I watch. :)
And as for sounding like Stetler - what do you mean?
I'm a Psychology student (ex med) and I spend most of my time profiling folk. I actually use a lot of the skills I learn in class when I'm watching shows. I can't help it.
As for you losing your friend, I'm sorry. I've lost a few people in my time too. But not everyone responds the same way, that's the whole point of psychology. Stressors like that tend to enhance/create compulsions (like with Eric). With me, for example, I lost my mom when I was 11 but it wasn't untill I was about 14 that I really delt with the magnitude of that and I actually suffered with an eating disorder for a little over a year. With others though, it can result in repression (take Calleigh for example) where the person actually pushes all recollection of the emotions relating to the event out of their mind and refuses to deal with them.
It was the end of season 5 and the rest of season 6 that we have seen the biggest character change for Eric. Have you seen CSI: My Nanny and Stand Your Ground? In those episodes we get, not just a glimpse, but full blown proof of Eric's new maturity and of Calleigh's positive reaction to it.
If Eric was just interested in sex with her, don't you think all this tension would have happened a lot sooner (they have known each other for over 6 years). Why now? And why is her persuing her so steadfastly? Why doesn't he just move on to another girl?
