Biography

Early Life
Emily Mallory Procter was raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was adopted as an infant. She was two years old when her parents William (a general practioner) and Barbara divorced. Emily is a graduate of Ravenscroft School in Raleigh. While at East Carolina she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorotity. After recieving her degrees in journalism and dance at East Carolina University, she was employed as television weather anchor at WNCT-TV in Greenville, North Carolina. Emily had originally intended to get into the theatre department of East Carolina University, but the head of the theatre department told her that he thought she did not have what it takes to become an actress and that it would not work out for her. According to Emily's own words, "This was a great inspiration to go out and do it anyway."

Career
After the move to Los Angeles, her father provided the costs for acting school for two years. Before even graduating, she landed a number of small roles in films such as Jerry Maguire (1996) and Breast Men (1997), where she appeared with David Schwimmer and Chris Cooper. She has only appeared topless in her life in two scenes in Breast Men. During the 1995-1996 season (3 season) of Lois & Clark:The New Adventures of Superman, she portrayed Lana Lang; the first blonde actress to do so. She also briefly appeared in the 1997 TV movie The Dukes Of Hazzard:Reunion! as Mavis. Procter also had a recurring guest role as Associate White House Counsel Ainsely Hayes on NBC's The West Wing.

She landed her breakthrough with the role of Calleigh Duquesne in the television series CSI:Miami, which has been running on American television since 2002.

Private life
She has volunteered as an actress with the Young Storytellers Program .

She is very interested and knowledgeable in interior decoration and antiques. She puts these interests to good practical use in the 1921 Spanish-style home that she owns.

She is an avid poker player. She says she learned to play this game as a child when her father would play a game called 'penny poker' with her. She has already participated in at least one celebritiy poker tournament. She is also fascinated with flower jigsaw puzzles and tries to assemble them faster with each attempt.

Family/Relationships:
Currently single,and has said that "Her work is her boyfriend."

When she signs on/off set of CSI Miami,friend/co-star Jon Togo will write "Is a dork" beside her signature.

She's very close with her family and acts as an 'authority' when it comes to solving crimes within the family: Like just who left the muddy footprints on the kitchen floor?

She has a 1980's cover band who has been described by fellow co-star Jon Togo as "Pretty amazing."

Fascinating facts:
She is very good friends with CSI :Crime Scene Investigation's Jorja Fox. Jorja told her to try out for the role of Calleigh.

Avid bug collector. Loves Flea markets & yard sales. Dumpster dives with her Mom & her Aunt ( really it's the truth).

All-time favorite movie-- Gone With the Wind.

Became best "girlfriends" with Martin Lawrence during the filming of " Big Momma's House 2"

Emily's sister is a chef. Before a holiday, they talk for weeks about what they're going to make.

During the Writers Strike she designed a house for a friend who lives in St. John. But there was only one hardware store.

that is so great that she likes gone with the wind. I have that movie on dvd, and it's a pure classic. she has good taste:)

I think Emily is the most exquisite and ravishingly georgous young lady in the entire universe; she is an angel from heaven. CSI Miami is my favorite show on television and she is my favorite character in the cast. I have the highest respect and deepest admiration for her for all the wonderful work she does for the homeless and for the charities. I think it is wonderful that she is so health conscious, as she runs every day for two hours, and runs marathons and triathalons. I am a physical fitness instructor and I would love to be able to run a marathon with her some day. I think it would be a dream come true if I could be Her fitness trainer. I am also a sixth degree black belt and I love to be Her body guard too. I think it would be the greatest gift I could ever receive and an absolute dream come true if if I was able to have her as my girl friend. we have a lot in common, and If I had one wish, it would be to meet Emily some day, because I know that she is a VERY wonderful and SPECIAL young lady. I love her VERY much. No other actress has made me feel the way she does.

I am new to this genra ( star trek/stargate/scifi ) viewer. i first thought of Ms. Procter as just another pretty face ( and quit pretty she is !! ) with cleavage ( not that i mind!! ) and the show had too much flash and glitter. however i have proved myself wrong! More humanity is starting to show ( cold case is the BEST for this ). Emilies facial expressions , poise and mannerism's are revealing her inner ( independent of her ' quit pretty face' ) humanity. Can't wait to see more! Oh this also appears to be Mr. caruso's forte as well!!

yes!!!omg she is the only 1 that doesnt have that much problems in her life! but even though she saw her boyfriend kill himself for not being a hero and another boyfriend she had as a secret and another 1 but not really they just liked each other. But she needs to get with adam and probably get close to dying like being hostage or something and Adam goes and saves her or something cool like that!frik this is drivin me crazy!!!!Calliegh do something awsome!!!LOL
