Backstory:

Detective Frank Trip was recruited by the MDPD scouts in the days when a college degree wasn't a necessity, Frank has relied heavily on street smarts in lieu book smarts. This was to his advantage when he transferred to gang detail.

His working style:

Brass tacks andFrank's businesstalksbusiness like when necessary, but open to a bit of humor when he's in the mood for it. You have to listen closely to his comments, because he's a sly one.

His personal style:

What style? He hasn't really decided who he is, even though he's been on the force for some time. Of all the characters on the show, he's the most malleable, at least on the surface.

Personal demons:

Alcohol and snap judgments based on previous experience. While these have their place, they frequently get him into trouble because they bias his view of things.

Relationships:

Frank was married but now is divorced. In season 2(Bait) we found out that his wife didnt trust him and hired someone to see if he would cheat on her, which he never did.

He has three kids (season 1 ep. 18).
