"Jake is a better match for Calliegh as he challenges her. Let's face it, at one time or another everyone in the Dept. has had an infinity/crush on Calleigh.
Jake & Calliegh have a romantic history. Eric & Calliegh have a WORK history.
I enjoy Jake because he doesn't trip over himself to be with Calleigh or smother her like a teenager experiencing "puppy love".
Also, let's consider the "fraternization" rule. Honestly folks, if TPTB actually hook up Calleigh & Eric one of them will have to leave the department. In the real world, simply working a different shift, as Eric suggested he would do,would still be a violation of said rule.

my ma like David Caruso too its not even funny, and shes older than him too and she says he so sexy. him and the way he takes off and puts on the sunglasses its not funny the way she talks about him. but i'll pick Eric any time plus one of my friends at school thinks Eric is sexy and he is only if he had Davids deep blue eyes then he will be so sexy but his abs takes the place of the eyes.

The show could not go on without Horatio. The writers have taken Paladin (in black) from the old western "Have Gun will Travel", Clint Eastwood's Harry from "Dirty Harry", the mystery of the character "Shane" The style of Tom Jones (grabbing his sunglasses the way TJ use to grab the microphone) and finally the tenderness of Roy Orbison and created a modern day Zoro.

It's amazing that Caruso can incorporate all of those characters into the Horatio character. He's truly a great actor. And again kudos to the writers for the character development. Without the tender scenes where H promises to catch the man that killed the child's mother, all you have is a gun slinger Horatio.

hi........In the premiere episode he tells Jake he was promoted to Master Sargeant so I guess it put him in another department. But to me he has been on screen more then he would as a Detective.
