So this is my first fanfic. In fact its the one of the first things i have written in something like two years that isn't school related so i want lots of feed back. I hope yall like it. Enjoy!

The warm sun began to sink on the crystal blue sky. Eric leaned out over the rail of the hotel balcony, feeling the cooling breeze on his face. "Got to love California," he said to himself. He had to admit the last four days had been great, even though he spent the majority of his time in crowded lecture halls and stale conference rooms. He even enjoyed thous times, because of the person that had been siting beside him.
The one thing that was bothering him was that he had spent almost every second since they left Miami Monday night with Calleigh and still hadn't really talked to her the way he wanted to. The moment that he excepted the nomination for one of the two spots open too go, he had made up his mined that this would be the week he finally convinced Calleigh. With everything that went on over the past few days, his plans had been derailed a bit. Sure he had gotten a few chances to talk to her but it never seemed like the right time. That and the knot that seemed to be permanently logged in his stomach.
This was going to be the night. He was absolutely set on saying something to her, after all he wanted to have this thing worked out by the time they got on the plane the next day. Thank goodness they had a late flight. His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the sliding glass door to the room next to him, Calleigh's room. She came into his sight when she leaned over her rail, mimicking Eric's position.

"Hey," he called out to her over the railing.
"Hey back," she responded flashing him her usual brilliant smile. They sat there for a moment smiling at each other before Eric got up the courage to continue.
"So you want to be my hot date for tonight to the end of conference banquite," he said with a hint of a joking manner (even though he was anything but joking.)
"Hmmm, I don't know... I mean this close to date..." flashing him another brilliant smile to show him she was joking, "I would love to".
"So the party starts at eight so... I will pick you up at seven thirty."
" Eric we have adjoining rooms"
"So, I will pick you up a seven thirty at your front door like any gentleman would do"
"OK," She said with a laugh in her voice, "I'll see you then."
