Episode Recap:
A party in Las Vegas goes bad when a man is killed and his wife and child are kidnapped. The Las Vegas CSI team tracks the perp and his victims to Miami, the home turf of Horatio Caine and his team of CSIs. Horatio finds the little girl wandering on an access road in the Everglades. She is carrying a spent cartridge. Her name is Sasha, and she tells the CSIs that the man "hit her mommy." The woman's body is later found in a car that has been sunk into the swamp. The post mortem of her body reveals a strange sticky substance in every orifice; Speed (Rory Cochrane) later identifies this substance as the purest form of honey, which is available in only one place in Miami. A nightclub sells the honey to the public, and also uses it. The honey is poured on women in the club, and then patrons dip apples in it and eat it. The CSI team determines that their perp has used this as an inspiration for his crime spree. He wraps his victims in plastic, covers them in honey, rapes them and then kills them. The Feds arrive and reveal that they have been tracking this perp for a long time, and that he murders wealthy guests of a certain hotel in Miami. The team also receives a tip at the club; a limo driver named Gordon Daimler who bought honey two days before the murders. The CSIs find a sickly sweet smell in his limo, but do not detect it on the driver. They later find out from the Las Vegas team that the smell is caused by a diabetic condition, and that Daimler takes medication that is prescribed for that condition. They arrive too late to save his last victim, Mrs. Corwin, but her husband survives and Daimler is arrested.
