A Cry for Harmony Chapter 1

You lived in one of the poorest parts of Cuba. Everyday crimes engulfed your neighborhood; people would be killed or kidnapped, homes were broken into, and people died of diseases and famine. No one wanted to be outside and hope dwindled upon the poor. For years young girls were sold (or taken away in some cases) by their parents or family members to human traffickers so they would be sold to rich U.S. men. You had heard of this before and had witnessed such acts as a little girl, you feared that that one day would come and you would be taken away. And that day had finally arrived. You had been captured by Cuban rebels and you along with other teenage girls would be shipped into the US to be sold to the best better. You were only 14 years old, but were familiar to the cruelties that the world had to offer. Your family didn’t live in peace, but still you managed to survive with a glint of hope in your eyes always having faith that everything would be okay. That afternoon you had been playing around with your cousins. It was a normal day filled with laughter from the little moments of happiness you and your boy cousins enjoyed. That’s the family you had. Your parents had abandoned you when you were a little girl; your mother had a one nightstand in America before she was deported back to Cuba and so you never knew who your father was, and your mother abandoned you a couple of years after you were born. You were taken in by a kind family that consisted of a mom and seven sons, the father too had abandoned them to their fortune. They were relatives of your mother’s side of the family and you considered them your family. The men came out of nowhere and various screams filled the air. Two other girls you knew were grabbed and thrown into a dirty old truck. A man began approaching you and you began to ran away, but he catched up to you easily. When he grabbed you one of your cousins tried to help you escape, but he was thrown to the floor. He tried fighting and as soon as you were pushed into the truck with other 6 or 7 girls you heard a gunshot. You were crying loudly and your screams of pain, anguish, and fear filled the trailer you were locked into with other dozen girls. You were rebellious and didn’t care if you had to suffer to gain your freedom. You banged on the doors and kicked and screamed hoping that someone would hear you. You called them cowards for taking you in and away from your families. You swore at them for hurting your cousin. The men had enough of you and had beaten you until you lost conscience. You woke up feeling sore and could barely move. The other girls sobbed quietly and you began to get back up. “Donde estamos? (Where are we?)” You asked. “Nos transportaron en un barco, nos van a llevar a Florida. (We’ve been shipped into a boat. We’re headed to Florida.)” “Hemos estado aqui por dos dias ya. Pensamos que estabas muerta (We’ve been held captive for like two days now. We thought you were dead),” a girl you recognized as your neighbor said. She was Tita, your older cousin’s dream girl. ‘Malditos Desgraciados (cursed bastards)’ you cursed under your breath. You felt a sudden stop and heard a loud screech. The door had opened and a man holding a rifle appeared. You didn’t know who he was, but he didn’t look Cuban- he looked like a gringo. “Get out! Come on you *******, move it.” You didn’t understand, but glared at this devil. He looked at you. “You’ve been pretty beaten, now stop staring or I’ll make sure that you never ever see again!” You still didn’t understand and continued glaring at him with so much hatred. He snarled and hit you in the stomach with his rifle. He slapped you repeatedly cursing at you with words you had never heard before. You didn’t stop glaring though. You kept challenging him with your eyes. The other girls looked terrified and suddenly a gunshot was heard. Another man approached and you were shoved to the floor. You maintained your dignity and barely stood up until you were pushed on the floor again. “Mira mocosa si no quieres morir no causes problemas (Look kid, you don’t want to die, stop causing so much trouble).” “Matame hijo de puta. Que pierdes con dejarme morir? (Kill me you son of a *****. What do you have to loose?) You saw him smirk. The gringo asked what you had said and the other man translated. The gringo pulled his rifle and was about to shoot, but instead he slammed the gun at you head. You slowly began to close your eyes and felt your eyes sting as drops of sweat entered your eyes. You felt the warm blood travel from your forehead past you cheek and to the metal floor. Tears overflowed your eyes and made their way across you cheeks. You tasted the salty substances and let out a soft whimper. You prayed to god and thanked him for granting you the wish of freedom. You would die, but it was better than been enslaved by a foreigner. You heard a gun **** and shot.

Your saw darkness. You narrowly opened your eyes and your pupils narrowed as you came into the sight of a bright white light. ‘Ya estoy muerta? (I’m dead?)’ You felt confused. If this was the holy light why did you feel a chill up your spine? You closed you eyes and felt a sharp pain on your chest. You shot your eyes open and let out a scream. You heard another scream and a clink.

The Quotable Caine:
"Like I said, Jimmy... shut up."

Episode Recap: The first part of the three-part crossover series involving the entire CSI franchise. When a distraught mother asks Horatio to help find her missing daughter, Ashley Tanner, a manhunt ensues, turning up the girl's abandoned car, followed by an assortment of dismembered body parts, an arm and a leg for starters. The DNA is tested on the arm, which belongs to the missing girl in Miami. The leg, however, has trace from radioactive salt flats, which points the team in the direction of the Nevada desert salt flats, so Calleigh contacts Dr. Ray Langston to recruit his assistance with the case and learns that the leg belongs to Samantha Matthews, a young girl whose murder was being investigated by the Vegas crime lab. Ashley's killer is identified, but not Samantha's, as Horatio and Ray could only determine who dismembered Samantha's body, not murdered her.

Body count: 2 for certain, possibly 3 with the foot found during Ryan and Walter's bear encounter.

The Crimes:

Victim(s): Ashley Tanner, Samantha Matthews, possible unknown victim

Suspect(s): Jimmy Burris, Nathan Cole, Tyler Goodman, Madeline Briggs, Nick Cooper

Whodunit: Jimmy Burris killed Ashley, and Nathan Cole dismembered Samantha's dead body, but her killer is still unknown. It is lead to believe that Tyler Goodman, the young man at the very end (at the gas station) is involved, as we learn that he is allegedly going to kill Madeline Briggs.

Path of evidence:

From the field:
abandoned Nissan Altima with blood spatter nearby on the ground, remains of an arm, a leg and a foot, blood on the inside of a tire iron, meat cleaver in Cole's restaurant/butcher shop

From the morgue:
tool marks found on the bones of the girls' severed limbs

From the lab:
DNA evidence of Burris's perspiration found on Ashley's bone confirming that he dismembered her body

Personnel issues: The only real incident that occurs is when Ryan and Walter are nearly mauled to death by a live grizzly bear, saved by superJesse! with a borrowed tranquilizer gun (HUGE LOL at Walter's face in this scene...). This incident seems to highlight the growing relationship between the three of them, perhaps? They seem to be on their way to becoming the new "Hardy Boys".

A mosaic, tiny tiny pieces of colored glass, or in this story. A Memory Mosaic. Tiny tiny pieces of memories spread out and, just like a puzzle, trying to be put back togather.

So my story begins sunny day, hot, dark, gray.(chapter title)

She can't seem to remember, was it nice out or was it a bad yucky day in Miami? Was it hot or cold out? Was there light, or was it all dark, and gray? Oh how she wished she could remember.

Sitting on the couch, racking her brain just to remember, to hold on, to grasp the day and relive it. But she couldn't, she just couldn't grasp it. She'd reach but catch nothing, just air, just emptiness, and with emptiness came sorrow, with sorrow came pain, with pain came hurt, and with hurt came tears. That's what her life was now, it was empty: like the bottom of a well that's run dry during a drought. Needed but empty; it held so much saddness.

Yup she was alone once again, another lonely night for her. She'd eat, read her reports for today, brush her teeth, and go to bed. No happiness, no excitement, no laughter, no joy. Just plain old sadness. Her colleagues haven't heard her laugh forever; they miss the bright, sunny, happy friend they once knew. But now they see a substitute for her, the exact opposite. An unhappy, unjoyful, person.

Why do bad things happen to her, why does she live a life of pain. WHY? Well that could be answered by one question, but she doesn't want to find it...wait hell yes she does. It's her life, and she wants to know why she's always rolling the snake eyes on the die.

That danged phone kept ringing, kept singing it's same old song. Oh why did she have to answer it, couldn't she let it be and let it ring and forget about it. Nope no such luck, her job was the only thing that kept her living, but it was also the thing that caused her the pain that formed itself into her life and her heart, thus making her emotions how they are now: mixed up, confused, combogled, crazy...wacky. That was the word for it; wacky. Everything was just fricken wacky nowadays.

She just had to pick up the phone, "Duquesne."

"Calleigh we have a problem, Eric's missing." Horatio raked his hand through his head of red hair: even through the phone he could see and feel how and when her face dropped from the horrid news.

"Uhn okay, I'll meet you at the crime lab." She said in a fast attempt to hang up.

"No I'm sending Alexx over to drive you here, there is a massive storm already here in Miami, Calleigh, and I will not have you getting hurt or lost while driving." Horatio argued.

"Fine, I'll be there whenever she gets here + 10, 15 minutes." This time she gave no thought as to how to hang up on her boss, she just hung up the reciever and got changed into her work clothes.

"Hey Alexx, let's go." Calleigh walked to the door but was stopped when Alexx put her hand on Calleigh' shoulder, and held her back.

"Oh no we don't, its horrible out there. There is no way we could get more than 500 feet from your driveway.We are going to have to stay whether you like it or not." Alexx said, and locked Calleigh's front door.

"Well what are we going to do?" Calleigh stated and no more than 50 seconds later she got her answer.

"Hey H, yeah there is no way we are getting out of my driveway its so bad." Calleigh answered a little annoyed.

"Fine uhm, I'm at the lab." Horatio stumbled backwards as people rushed past him. "Calleigh I have to go." He said hurriedly, and hung up without a good bye from her.

No more than 15 minutes after that a knocking came on her front door.

"CALLEIGH OPEN THE DOOR, CALLEIGH! IT'S ME NAT, PLEASE OPEN THE GOD-DAMN DOOR." Natalia screamed.

"Nat, oh my gosh; sorry. Are you okay?" Calleigh got out an exrta blancket.

"I'm fine; its horrible out there." She stated and shivered. Then it went black (for everyone).

"Ah, what happened?" Nat screamed in the dark.

"Calleigh?" Alexx couldn't see a dang thing.

"I'm right here, Nat the power went out; Alexx help me find some candles." Calleigh moved around trying to remember where she was standing and where the coffee table was.

"Ouch!" Calleigh yelped.

"You okay baby girl?" Alexx saw the out line of her face.

"I'm fine, just banged my knee." She reasured.

"Okay, where do you keep the matches, and candles?" Alexx sighed, this would be a long night.

"Calleigh?" Natalia got up from the couch.

"CALLEIGH?" Alexx yelled.

"Damn-it Calleigh knock it off, where the hell are you?" Natalia yelled, still no reply.

Where's Calleigh? What happened? I need at least ONE review to continue people, or i'll think i'm only writing it for myself...and i dont like thaty very much...please read and leave a review if u want more, if not at least tell me what ya thought.

Fighting For My Life, Alone(Calleigh's POV)

God, where'd everyone go? "Alexx, Natalia?" Hmh that's weird, no reply.

"Hello Blondie, you know, for Miami's best shot you didn't put up much a fight, and your friends; well they didnt even notice someone had walked into your house and grabbed you." A man laughed. A low, but yet in the middle voice, kind of gravely.

"What do you want?" Really, that was the best I could come up with, "What do you want?" My God Calleigh.

"Simple, I want your boyfriend to suffer, by watching you die." The man laughed. Eric, oh my god they have Eric.

"Where is he?" Nice Duquesne, keep him talking.

"Oh I'm sorry I forgot about HIM." He turned around. "Bring him in." Oh my god Eric.

"This is your tough boyfriend, oh he looks tough doesnt he?" Yeah just keep laughing, as soon as I get out of these restraints I'm gonna kill you.

"CAL!" oh god, Eric looked like crap, he's got a huge gash above his eye, a split lip, and a black eye.

"ERIC!" God these restraints so suck, ow ow ow.

"Cal stop moving, you're only going to cut the cuffs deeper into your skin." He was probably right.

"Oh looking out for her, touching; really. But how will you feel when she's hurting and you can't do a danged thing about it?" Why is he coming closer, dear god, PLease don't. NO NO NOOO not this way.

part 3

"LEAVE HER ALONE!" Eric yelled, and he began yanking on the chains they put on him.

"I'm sorry did you say something?" The man looked at Eric menising.

"Leave her alone." Eric gave him an ice cold, shooting daggers look.

"To bad there's nothing you can do about it if I do touch her, or hit her." The man laughed his evil laugh.

"Eric." Calleigh was crying; she knew what was about to happen.

"Calleigh you have to stay strong for me okay. I want you to be Calleigh Duquesne, not the Calleigh I see every night okay? I want you to be the Calleigh I see at work. I want you to be my bullet girl, okay?" Eric looked at her with softness in his eyes.

"Okay." She was so afraid but she had to remain strong.

"Oh you two are just so precious, too bad I have to take her away from you." He pulled out a gun.

BANG, a bullet's sound ripped through the air and hit Calleigh in the abdomen.

She screamed out in pain, fearing the life of her unborn child.

"CALLEIGH!" Eric yanked on the chains harder, it hurt but he didn't mind the pain, right now he just wanted to hold her and tell her it'd be alright (even though it really wasn't), he wanted to rock her in his arms.

"You son of a *****; I swear I'm gonna put a bullet in your brain." Eric yelled, and yanked harder on the chains.

"Release his restraints." The man told his acompliance.

"Okay Mr. Delko I'll be back in about 2 hours, you and your girlfriend talk kiss, do whatever you want." He laughed and left the room.

"Calleigh, Cal sweetheart; oh God are you okay?" He knew it was a stupid question, but he saw her blood pouring out and... he just didn't know what to say. He'd never seen her hurt before.

"Eric, I'm pregnant, it's just the baby. And god, why'd this have to happen?" Calleigh held her stomach, even though it was just a deep grazing. Oh gosh she hoped it missed the child or anything important.

part 4. When missing a person, call Horatio Caine.

"Calleigh, good God girl knock it off." Alexx yelled through the house, still looking for Calleigh.

"Alexx somthing's gotta be wrong, Calleigh would NOT just up and leave in the middle of a mongo bad storm. Something's wrong." Natalia told the older woman.

"Let's call H." Natalia suggested.

"H, she's missing, I have no idea where she is or why I think she's missing. But she's missing. No way Calleigh would leave during this storm,and if she were to, no way we wouldn't hear her." Alexx told him calmly, yet she was so afraid for her "little girl's" life.

"Fine we're on it, we'll be there to process the scene...I mean the house, in 15." Horatio hung up and yelled at himself for being stupid and too professional, if Calleigh really was missing, Alexx didn't need him calling Calleigh's house a crime scene.

Eric has been found and the bullet removed. Now the team holds vigil, with Horatio and Calleigh at the hospital, willing him to wake up. Everyone, except Horatio it seems, was shocked when they were told that any decisions regarding Eric's care were to be made by Calleigh. The question on everyone's minds is "Why Calleigh?" Calleigh is sitting at Eric's bedside, holding his hand and quietly willing him to open his eyes. Alexx walks in to check on her "babies."

Calleigh: (holding Eric's hand between hers, rubbing it absently; whispering) C'mon, Eric. Wake up. Open your eyes for me, please. (barely holding back tears)
Alexx: (walking in; sees Calleigh pleading with an unconscious Eric; goes to her) Calleigh...(no response) Calleigh, baby. (touches Calleigh's shoulder)
Calleigh: (jumps a little, then settles when she realizes it's Alexx) Alexx. I didn't hear you come in.
Alexx: You wouldn't have, the way you were pleading with Eric to wake up. (keeping a hand on Calleigh's shoulder and stroking her hair with the other)
Calleigh: (tearing up) We can't lose him, Alexx. Not like this.
Alexx: (looking beyond the words for the real reason for the tears) Calleigh, honey. (sits next to Calleigh and turns Calleigh's head so she can see her eyes) What's really behind these tears, baby? (wipes the tears away, only to have them replaced by more)
Calleigh: Alexx, I put him here. I shot him!
Alexx: Oh, baby! It was an accident. There's no way you could've known he was the one driving that car.
Calleigh: But...(turning away from Alexx)
Alexx: No buts. (turning Calleigh back to her) Ryan told me what happened.
Calleigh: (crying) If I had only realized it sooner...
Alexx: (semi-sternly) Calleigh, Eric is alive. Now you have to give him a reason to wake up. You need to be strong for him, baby.
Calleigh: Alexx, I...I don't know if I can do what he wants if it comes to that. I can't make that choice.
Alexx: (intrigued, as are the others, as to why Eric put his power of attorney in Calleigh's hands) Why did Eric leave the decision to you instead of his parents?
Calleigh: (slightly dodging the question) He's my best friend. I figured that after Marisol, he didn't want to put that on his parents.
Alexx: (not believing this explanation for a second) Baby, what's the real reason? (talking to Calleigh's back now that she has turned back to face Eric) I know you two as well as if you were my own kids, Calleigh.
Calleigh: (looking at Eric and squeezing his hand; willing him to squeeze back) I love him, Alexx. (tears falling silently) I love him so much.
Alexx: (slightly shocked by the outright response, but not at the response itself) Honey, tell me something I don't know.
Calleigh: (shocked; turning to look at Alexx) You knew? How? I mean, we never...
Alexx: (smiling as Calleigh stumbles over the revelation) Baby, he almost NEVER left your side when you were in here. I almost had to kick him out of the ER when they brought you in.
Calleigh: (remembering waking up with Eric at her side) That was the day he told me...(tearing up) that he couldn't imagine his life without me. (letting the tears fall) I never told him how much that meant to me, Alexx.
Alexx: (squeezing Calleigh's shoulder) Tell him now, Baby Girl. Give him something to fight for. (stroking Calleigh's hair) I'll be outside if you need me. (walks out)
Calleigh: (rubbing Eric's hand between hers; then standing and leaning closer to his head) I love you, Eric. Come back to me...please. (pauses to squeeze his hand) Wake up Eric. Open your eyes for me. (brings his hand to her cheek; squeezes again) I love you.

Unbeknownst to Calleigh, Horatio has joined Alexx outside and has witnessed the entire confession. He, like Alexx, is not at all surprised by it- just by the intensity of it.

Alexx: Horatio...(questioningly, to gauge his response to this revelation)
Horatio: (looking at Alexx, then through the window again to his CSIs) I think I understand now.
Alexx: (smirking at him) I think you always knew. (seriously) Now, what do you do about it, Horatio?
Horatio: (watching Calleigh with Eric) Time will tell, Alexx. Time will tell.

As Calleigh keeps vigil at Eric's side, Ryan and Natalia take over tracking down the stolen arsenal from the armory.

Ryan: (running dash cam footage with Dave in AV) I wish we would get just one plate...just one could lead us to the Russians.
Dave: Well, we've only just started on the dash cams. How many squad cars were at the scene?
Ryan: Four, I think. I'm not sure which ones had good angles, though.
Dave: Well, we'll just go frame by frame then. (pause) Anything on Eric?
Ryan: (quietly) Nothing new. He's still in a coma...Calleigh said she'd let us know as soon as there's a change.
Dave: (shuffling through the photos) She's been at the hospital for hours now.
Ryan: Yeah...uh, H is letting her stay there...she's positive that she hit Eric, and she's feelin' really guilty right now.
Dave: WOW. That's tough...shooting someone you've worked with for so long. (looking at Ryan) They've always been pretty tight, right?
Ryan: (awkward silence, considering his suspicions) Yeah. (pauses; then takes up the controls) Let's find these guys.

Elsewhere in the lab, Natalia is getting a handle on what was in the armory.

Natalia: Oh my God. We had enough weapons in the armory to outfit three small countries!
Frank: Yeah. That's almost every weapon ever taken in to evidence or confiscated since Horatio took over as head of CSI.
Natalia: WOW. That's just...(speechless)
Frank: Insane? Yeah.
Natalia: Do we know what portion of this the Russians got away with?
Frank: Not yet. There's a few uniforms down there checking the "inventory", but it could be awhile. There were only two vans at the armory. (pauses as he scans the list over her shoulder) I'm guessin' that the Russians were only after the weapons we confiscated from Sarnov's organization.
Natalia: Let's hope so. Otherwise, we're gonna have some serious problems.

Back in AV, Ryan and Dave are working on dash cam #3. Yelina, still slightly in shock after her ordeal with Sarnov and Gregor, walks in.

Yelina: Ryan. (stepping up behind Ryan and Dave)
Ryan: (turning; surprised) Detective Salas.
Yelina: (motioning to the photos onscreen) Are those from the armory shooting?
Ryan: Um, yeah. (gets an idea) Maybe you can help us.
Yelina: What do you need?
Ryan: Well, you were undercover in Sarnov's organization, right? (Yelina nods) Do you recognize anyone? Anyone look familiar?
Yelina: (studying a few of the photos) No one up there. Are there more?
Ryan: Yeah...well, if you have the time.
Yelina: (looking at him with a determined expression on her face) Anything I can do to help you catch them before they put those weapons on the street.
Ryan: Great. (pulls a chair up for her) Let's nail these guys.

At Dade Memorial, Alexx and Horatio keep an eye on Calleigh, who has refused to leave Eric's side. They watch as she continues pleading with him to fight.

Alexx: (with a worried expression on her face) Horatio, she's exhausted. It's been almost 12 hours.
Horatio: I know. (rubbing a hand over his tired face) I don't know what to say to her.
Alexx: We have to do something. She's dead on her feet, and she hasn't eaten anything since you brought him in...She won't leave until he opens his eyes, Horatio.
Horatio: Maybe we should get something to eat.
Alexx: (looking at him and seeing the fatigue in his eyes) Why don't I go? You should think about getting some rest yourself, Horatio.
Horatio: (smiles weakly) I will, Alexx.

Alexx heads off in search of food, and Horatio weighs his options in dealing with his assistant supervisor. Finally coming up with a game plan, he quietly enters the room and pulls up a chair next to Calleigh.

Horatio: (softly) Calleigh. (no response) Calleigh, listen to me. Eric wouldn't want you to neglect yourself. You need to be strong when he wakes up.
Calleigh: (finally looking at Horatio) I can't go until I know he's gonna come out of this. (tears falling silently) This is my fault. I should've trusted him to do the right thing.
Horatio: There was no way for us to know what Eric was going to do. You can't blame yourself for not anticipating every angle...Have you been able to reach the Delkos?
Calleigh: They're out of town. I called Carmen's cell phone and left a message for them to call me as soon as possible. (wiping her eyes) I've left two more messages since he's been out of surgery.
Horatio: Calleigh, I know what Eric means to you.
Calleigh: (looking up at Horatio, shocked) What?!
Horatio: (avoiding eye contact) I've seen the two of you together. There's a connection between you that won't easily be broken. And you both deserve to be happy.
Calleigh: (confused) Horatio, what about department policy? We both know Rick Stetler will have a field day with this if anyone finds out.
Horatio: (looking at her) Is that really your only concern, Calleigh?
Calleigh: No...(quietly) I'm afraid Eric won't trust me after this. I should've been there for him- instead I preached at him! Maybe if I had listened to him, he would've told me what he was going to do.
Horatio: Then we would've lost you both. (putting a hand on her shoulder) Leave Stetler to me. I want you to focus on taking care of yourself so you can be here for Eric. (smiles) I can't think of anyone he'd like here more than you. (standing) Hang in there, Calleigh. (walks out)

Back at the lab, Natalia has a report from the uniforms who checked the armory "inventory".

Frank: (walking in as Natalia starts comparing lists) What've you got?
Natalia: I think you were right, Frank. The Russians were only after Sarnov's weapons. (frowning as she speaks)
Frank: Well, that's good news, isn't it? (confused by her reaction)
Natalia: (looking up at him) Not necessarily. We still don't know where the Russians are. These weapons could be anywhere.
Frank: What's Wolfe working on?
Natalia: Ryan's trying to get some idea as to where they could be hiding. He's down in AV going over dash cam footage with Dave.
Frank: (sarcastically) And that's gonna help us how?
Natalia: Why don't we go check it out?

In AV, Ryan, Dave and Yelina have made headway on the dash cam footage, but are slowly getting discouraged by the lack of clues to the Russians' whereabouts.

Dave: (manning the controls) Okay, this is the last dash cam.
Ryan: (defeated) And we haven't found anything in the first three.
Dave: (trying to be optimisitc) That's not entirely true. (looking over at Ryan, then back up at the screen) We've gotten a couple of partial plates that we can run through the DMV. It's a start. (continues going through the photos)
Yelina: (watching the screen intently; finally spotting a face) Dave, wait a minute. Could you go back to that last frame?
Dave: Sure. (reverses the frame and freezes)
Yelina: I know him.
Ryan: Really?
Yelina: Well, I recognize him from the bar. He's been in there a lot the last few weeks.
Dave: (to Ryan) You wanna run it through facial recognition?
Ryan:Yeah...and I guess we should run those partial plates, too. (to Yelina) That was great. Thanks.
Yelina: Glad I could help. (walks out)
Dave: Okay. I got somethin'. (reading results) Sergei Milanovich...and he's red-flagged by Interpol.
Ryan: Not surprising. (running the partial plates through DMV records) Dave, I think we just got lucky. One of the partial plates is from a black Dodge cargo van, like the ones at the shooting. It's registered to...a Mikhail Milanovich. (Natalia and Frank walk in)
Natalia: Hey Ryan. Did you guys get anything from the dash cams?
Ryan: We just got a couple of leads...thanks to Yelina.
Frank: She was here?
Ryan: Yeah. She just left. So...we've got two possilbe links to Sarnov's organization: Sergei and Mikhail Milanovich.
Frank: Brothers?
Ryan: Cousins, I think.
Natalia: Is there an address?
Dave: 1650 Brickell Avenue, Miami.
Ryan: (to Natalia) What'd you get on the weapons?
Natalia: They were only after the weapons we confiscated from Sarnov.
Ryan: Let's check this place out. (following Natalia and Frank out) Thanks, Dave.

Back at Dade General, Alexx has just returned with food.

Alexx: (walking over to Horatio) So much for getting some rest, huh? (following his gaze)
Horatio: (looking in at Calleigh) She just put her head down. (Calleigh is still holding Eric's hand, even in sleep)
Alexx: (taking his arm) You need to eat. (pulls him to where she's set the food) And then you're going to rest. Doctor's orders.
Horatio: (almost mockingly) Yes, ma'am.
Alexx: (handing him a sandwich and looking up at the woman approaching them) Then again, maybe not.
Horatio: (follows her gaze over his shoulder and nods slightly at the woman) Thank you, Alexx. Excuse me. (meets the woman at the door) Yelina.
Yelina: (concerned after seeing his face) Horatio, are you okay?
Horatio: I'm...I'm fine. How are you?
Yelina: I'm...good. (Horatio gives her "the look") A little rattled...(the look again) Okay...I'm more than a little rattled. (quietly) How's Eric?
Horatio: He's...hanging in there. (looking through the window)
Yelina: (following his gaze, lingering on Calleigh and Eric's joined hands) And Calleigh?
Horatio: She's trying to be strong. (watches as Calleigh squeezes Eric's hand in her sleep)
Yelina: They've found it, haven't they? (Horatio looks at her expectantly) That...connection between two people that links them to each other forever. The connection we never could...
Horatio: Yelina...
Yelina: Why haven't we ever been able to get past this?
Horatio: I...I don't know.
Yelina: Horatio...I'm sorry. This is neither the time nor the place. (looking him in the eye) You'll let me know about Eric?
Horatio: (nodding) Yes...Yelina? (as she turns to leave) Can we talk later?
Yelina: (considers) Sure...You could...come by the house. Ray Jr. would love to see you.
Horatio: Okay. I'll call you. (she nods and leaves)
Alexx: (joining him at the window) What was that about?
Horatio: Umm...unfiinshed business.
Alexx: (looking through the window at Calleigh, who is waking up) I'm gonna try getting her to eat. (going into the room) Calleigh, honey?
Calleigh: Alexx. You're still here.
Alexx: Of course...I brought you something to eat. It's...(interrupted by Calleigh's phone vibrating)
Calleigh: (checking the display) It's Eric's mom. (instantly nervous)
Alexx: (waving Calleigh out of the room) Go on. I'll sit with him until you come back.
Calleigh: But...
Alexx: (seeing Calleigh's nervousness) It'll be fine, honey. They need someone who cares to tel them what's going on. (Calleigh nods and goes out to take the call)

Horatio The Love of My Life

One Beautifull Sunny Morning i was Going out my Door heading to work when all of a sudden i heard Police
Cars Comeing around the Coner and when i looked up and saw the most gorgoues man i have ever seen
Driveing by in a Hummer He had sunglasses on and the most gorgoues red hair i had ever seen and then
a few minuties later I saw him and the Police get out of thier cars and surround a house just a few blocks from mine
they being to knock on the door and say it is the Police and then when Kelly And Mark did not answer thier door
the Police begain to open the door and what they found was awfull they found both Kelly and Mark laying on thier living
Room floor dead and so they begain asking the other People in the subdivision if they saw any thing at all
and some of them said that they had seen a man in a silver car driveing away from Kelly and Marks house going
at a high rate of speed and they told the Police and Lt.Horatio Caine that he was wearing blue jeans and cowboy
boots and he has Blonde Hair and blue eyes and then Lt.Horatio Caine over and started talking to me and ask what my name was
and i told him that it was Taylor Johnson and he ask me if i had seen anything suspence going on and i told him that a few
days ago i saw the silver car over at their house but did not hear anything suspence or any screaming or any thing else strange going on and he gave
me is card and said if remmeberd any thing else to call him and i told him i would and he shook my hand and i felt and bolt of electrity
go though my body like i had been struck by lighting and so he left .A couple of weeks later i heard a noise and i looked out my window
and saw the same silver car and the man the other people in the neighbor's hood has saw he was opening the front door of
Kelly And Marks House with a credit card and he went in and so i found the card that Lt.Horaio Caine and i called him and told him what i had saw
and he said that he would be thier as soon as he could and i said goodbye and i went to sit on the couch to watch tv
when i heard some one knocking on my door so thinking that it must be Lt.Horatio Caine i open the front door and to my
surprize it was the man that was at Kelly And Marks House and he had a gun in his hand and he came in the house and
told me to go sit back down on the couch and shut up if i wanted to live and so i did what he said to do.But he did not know
that i had my cell phone hide and so i waited for him to leave the room and i dialed Lt.Horatio Caine's cell phone number from
the card he gave my earlier that day and waited for him to anwser and when he did i told him what was going on and
he said sit tight i well be in there in a few mintues and so i did and with in a few mintues Lt.Horatio Caine and the mdpd was thier and when the
guy heard the police he tried to run but they caught him and so when it was finally arrested and put in the police car
Lt.Horatio Caine ask me if i was ok and i told him yes and he told that if i ever need any one to talk to just call him
and so in about a week after the Murder was solved i called him and ask if he would like to have Dinner with
me as a thank you for all he had done and he said yes so i told him to be at my house at 7:00 that night and so at 7:00 clock he was thier and
so we sat down for dinner and statred talking about his work and mine and it was the best time i had ever had with a man .
cause it had been a about 5 years since my marriage had ended and so it was nice to have some one to talk to and so after a cup of coffee he said he had to
go and so i walked him to the door and we said goodbye and he ask if he could kiss me goodnight and i said yes
and when his lips touch mine wow fireworks went off in my head and around me and so he left and that night
i dreamed about him all night long and so for the next year we saw each other as much as possible and
then one night.We just had done eating dinner and we walked into the living room to sit on the couch and i sat down but he did
not instead he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him at first i was speechless but when i finally got my mind back i said yes
and so for the next 5 months we planned our Wedding and so he asked Eric and Ryan to be his bestmans and i asked my best friend Tanya to be my Maid of Honor
and so we were off planing the wedding of my dreams and so we had a lot of work to do if we were going to plan the perfect wedding and so i had a lot to do and lots of people to call.

Rex Maynard Linn was born in Ochiltree County, Texas, the third child and second son of Darlenne Deere and James Paul Linn. He grew up on a ranch outside Spearman, Texas, a small argicultural, ranching and oil town with his sister Rhonda Lou and brother James Paul ll, attending Spearman Elementary and Spearman Junior High School. Linn's first public performances included palying drums in his band Beach Bums, in the Junior High Auditorium to entertain his classmates. Summers were spent working cattle with cowboys and going to movies in town.
It was in this small Texas community that Linn developed an appetite, at an early age, for movies and acting. The Lyric theatre on Main Street, which is still in operation, provided the people of Spearman with the only movie house in the area. Linn freqented this move house often,and enjoyed its menu of horror movies and Westerns.
In August 1969. his parents relocated the family to Oaklahoma City, Oaklahoma where his father practiced law. There he attended Heritage Hall and later Casady High School, an independant school affilated with the Episcopal Church, was employed part-time at the Oaklahoma City Zoo. It was in November 1975, after seeing Jack Nicholson in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest that Linn announced that he really wanted to be an actor. Unfortunately it was also in high school that he was discouraged in the pursuit of his dream to become an actor. After the first night of the school production of Fiddler On The Roof, in which he very nearly demolished a set during a dance routine, Linn was asked to leave the production by Prof. Gill, his drama coach. He was told that it would probably be wise for him to direct his energy into some other field of endeavour, which effectively ended his high school acting career. He graduated from Oaklahoma State University in 1980 with a degree in Radio/Tv/Film.

Career:
After graduation, Linn decided on a banking career. He worked his way up to VP of Energy Lending, for the Lakeshore Bank, remaining there until 5 July, 1982 when the bank was shut down for insolvency. Linn was able to convince a talent agent to take a chance on him and represent him in the Oaklahoma market. At the same time, he accepted ajob with a oiling company, overseeing field operarions in western Oaklahome, all the while auditioning for film and TV commercials. After shooting some very bad commericals, he started landed small role in various projetcs. It was during this time that he was given the opportunity to act in his first film, Dark Before Dawn, which was being produced by his best friend Edward K. Gaylord ll. More importantly, he became an associate producer on the film. That opportunity provided him with great insight into the creative porcess of filmmaking, which would later prove to be a valuable asset to him in the world of acting.
In 1989, he was cast in his first substantial role, as serial killer Floyd Epps in Night Game, starring Roy Schneider. Following this film, and a part as a sheriff in the TV series, The Young Riders, he decided it was time to head west. Surrending to the acting bug, Linn sold his house, loaded all his possessions into a U-Haul and on Feb 5, 1990 headed to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. For the first three years, he studied acting with Silvanna Gallardo in Studio City and worked with a close friend and fellow struggling actor, Robert Knott, on various construction jobs.
But gradually, the roles started coming in, small ones in theatrical films such as My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys (1991), Thunderheart (1992) and Sniper (1993), and guest shots on Tv series such as Northern Exposure, Raven, and The Adventures Of Briscoe County Jr. In April 1992 he got his first real break. Linn was cast as the bad U.S Treasury agent, Richard Travers, in the very successful movie Cliffhanger. That film proved to be pivotal in providing the exposure Rex needed to get to the next level.
Since Cliffhanger, he has appeared in over 35 films, with that number growing annually. Linn's most recent works include an independent production, Cockfight, orginally titles The Round And Round, which was released in 2004, Zodiac in 2005, and Abominable in 2006, with another picture The Garage in production in 2006. He has also had recurring roles in several TV series, most recently as Sgt. Frank Tripp in CSI:Miami, a role for which, according, to reports, he was tricked into reading during the first season and which he has held as a season regular ever since.

Fascinating facts:
After Rex Linn a bachelors of arts in radio, TV, and film from Oklahoma State University, he eventually became a bank vice-president. He was in the middle of processing a loan for a young man who told him that the loan was to help the young man fulfill his dreams. Linn turned in his resignation shortly thereafter to fulfill his dreams of being an actor. He moved to L.A. and convinced a talent agent that he was worth taking a chance on.

Rex's grandfather was a sheriff.

Wanted to be a actor since he was five years old.

The final scene of Bait was a mistake that turned out to be a good ending. it wasn't supposed to end this way but they ran out of film.
